Not ready for winter!

Winter came around a lot earlier than what we were ready for! Just a few days ago it was HOT! Now we really have to buy Elvie a dressing gown and some slippers!! Daddy's socks are warm but a little too big...

The ducks

On the river bank behind the Warburton shops. It had just been raining so everything is so fresh and green. It was so relaxing compared to the dry and dusty suburbs.

Victory!

Tuesday night Elvie slept through the night without any arguments or getting out of bed or asking for milk!!!
Wednesday's nap was a breeze. She just went to bed and slept in it (not the floor this time!) for 2 hours no worries.
Hooray!!

Elf asleep on floor

Since removing the side off her cot, the nights have been surprisingly good. But the days have been interesting.
Elvie is usually an angel for her nap each afternoon, sleeping for about 3 hours regularly, no arguments! However, the freedom to get in and out at will has seen a whole new development at nap time.
Day 1: Two hours and 20 mins of getting out of bed and leaving her room, only to be returned every single time by a tired but calm and determined Jussy. Result was an eventual nap on the floor.
Day 2: Forty minutes of playing quietly in her room, followed by 2 minutes of calling out 'mum' (with no response or reaction), followed by a nap on the floor. Note she didn't attempt to leave her room.
I think we're getting somewhere! Will keep you posted on tomorrow's develpoments.

Jet (16 months)

This is Elvie's cousin, Jet and Grandad (Wesley) at Finn's 4th birthday party. The theme was a superhero party and Jet is dressed as an 'Incredibles' kid. Adorable!

Big Girl's Bed

Tonight is Elvie's first night in her 'big girl's bed'! We've taken the side off the cot in an attempt to reduce her night waking. We're trying to change the pattern by no longer giving her milk in the night because she is a 'big girl' now as evidenced by her new bed.
